Two Former Stars Named to NAHL Top Prospects Event

Pittsburgh, PA - Former Esmark Stars standout players Ian Norkevicus (defenseman) and Shane Kozlina (forward), have been named to the 2025 North American Hockey League (NAHL) Top Prospects Tournament.


The tournament will take place Feb 17 & 18 in Plymouth, MI at the USA Hockey rink.


With six teams filled with the top prospects from the NAHL, the event has quickly become one of the most highly scouted events of its kind, with hundreds of junior and college scouts expected in attendance this season.


Norkevicus skated for the Stars U18 squad during the 2022-23 season and amassed 70 points (12G, 58A) in 70 games. He would tender with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the NAHL that season. At Fairbanks, he has recorded 49 points (12G, 37A) in 82 games to date.


Kozlina skated for the U16 Stars during the 2020-21 season and with the U18 Stars during the 2021-22 season and record a combined 103 points (48G, 55A) in two seasons. He signed with and jumped to the Maine Nordiques of the NAHL for part of the 2022-23 season and for the past two seasons. To date he has recorded 73 points (27G, 46A) in 105 NAHL appearances.


Both players will skate for the NAHL Selects Black Team at the event.
